About Scarlet’s Bakery
As a social enterprise bakery, Scarlet’s Bakery is a training ground for women seeking a fresh start. We strive to employ, equip & empower women as they transition toward a new career from backgrounds of abuse and exploitation. We do this by hosting a Career Development Program on site to prepare women with essential life, work and leadership skills for their future careers. By no means is the bakery the end goal for our participants. Rather, the very opposite; Scarlet’s Bakery is only the beginning.
Role of Bakery Assistant:
Intern will assist in the daily operations the bakery. This position will include some work in the kitchen if you have professional culinary experience.
Responsibilities of Bakery Assistant:
- Work the front register
- Prep the front counter
- Assist with marketing to local businesses
- Assist with social media accounts
- Work alongside ladies
- Wash dishes & take out trash
- Ensure store and bathrooms are kept clean and tidy
- If Culinary experience, you can assist in kitchen
- Create a welcoming and friendly environment to customers and staff
*Women only. Culinary experience a plus but not required.
